The best spot cleared of foliage by the US 59 project is here at Chewie Rd, where there is a fairly tight S curve. The southbound H train rolls into it, seen from the shoulder of the US 59 southbound side.
A week ago, this was a raging torrent due to the almost ten inches of rain that fell between Friday night and Sunday. The creek bed has been washed over, but the bridge remains as steady as it has always been, the six units and 114 cars of the H train rolling across at speed.
One of the benefits of the US 59 widening project has been brush cutting between the road and railroad, opening up some views, such as this one at Ballard Creek.

Ironically, Y City Rd is not anywhere near the town of that name, which is down near Mena. But, we have an H train rolling south at Y City Rd in the late day sun. Hes still struggling to get his 100 plus cars over the rise just south of Decatur at MP 219.
The dodger that works from Watts is pushing covered hoppers of plastic pellets into the siding for Pipe Life, where they will be made into more PVC pipe.
