This album covers my photos from the first month of the year. I did not get many chances to get out and watch/photo trains this particular month due to work and the weather. Hope you all like the pictures and thanks for taking a look.

BNSF 5751, BNSF 9202, & BNSF 9284 head north with an empty SLC coal train on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. just south of Old Monroe, Mo.
For a line that is practically flat as a table top; it is pretty rare to see more than 2 - 4 units per train on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. (K-Line). Todays big surprise was a 9 unit freight, the H GALSTL9 01A, as it rolls south towards Annada, Mo. currently passing the intermediate signal at milepost 76.3. This consist was kind of bland, basically a GE lovers paradise, with the CitiRail being the odd man out.

Since flooding has halted most traffic for the BNSF in Missouri; this Rush Island (UCEX) coal load is parked in the siding until the BNSF River Sub. is passable to the Ameren Plant in Festus, Mo. Seen here holding down the siding is a pair of BNSF ACes, 9183 & 8790, as they sit in Elsberry, Mo. under a clear sky on the BNSF Hannibal Sub.
BNSF 8790 and leader BNSF 9183 idle under a clear sky in Elsberry, Mo. on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. staring at red signals at the south end of town. KCS 4614 works as DPU while also suppling air to the other half of this UCEX coal load, as the train is broken across a crossing in town. Working with very little light on the north end of town, this was a great challenge to capture. Would have made for a better image had the unit been nose out. BNSF Hannibal Sub. - Elsberry, Mo.
NS 2639 and UP 8673 sit on the Alton & Southern connection track with 32Q (East St. Louis, IL (A&S) - Decatur, IL) in Mitchell, Illinois as they wait for a crew to head to Decatur.
