Not an actual race but sure looked like it from the South Halsted Avenuw overpass as two train pulled out heading east.
For those of us with the vantage point on top of the South Halsted Avenue overpass, the typical train movements below in Barr Yard took on a dramatic, albeit ficitional, locomotive race. First out was the GE unit #3100.
CSX 3100 pulls out strong with a definite lead. Its partner, CSX 7708, noses out as well.
CSX 851 bursts out of the box with an impressive display of power!
. . . or should that be pilot to pilot race?!?!?
CSX 851 definitely pulls ahead now while CSX 3100 starts slowing down.
