I had an interview with American Airlines in Dallas and I had to find a way to get out there. So I designed a route that would let me ride most of the western long distance trains. On this trip I rode the Pacific Surfliner, Sunset Limited, Texas Eagle, Heartland Flyer, Missouri River Runner, and the Southwest Chief. While I was rumbling around the country on the train I couldn't help but think we we're running into the American songbook. Things like This Land Is Your Land came to my mind, Folsom Prison Blues, West Texas in My Rearview Mirror, and so many other songs. So I'm titling my album that to commemorate the amazing American experience of the rails and music.

Just down the rails from the Washington Coliseum where so many acts started their American careers like the Beatles.
