Fairly nice roster shot of Dollywood RR 2-8-2 narrow gauge Mikado #192 taken by rail fan Jim Lockart on one of his travels.
Rail fan Jim Lockart stopped by the Dollywood Park at caught former White Pass & Yukon 2-8-2 narrow gauge #192 now serving as the tourist train in the park. Known as "Klodike Katie", it is a 1943 Baldwin built 2-8-2 Mikado that operated on the 36-inch narrow-gauge White Pass & Yukon Route in Alaska to transport supplies for the Alcan Highway. It was purchased by White Pass & Yukon Route in 1946; converted to an oil burner in the 1950s and used as a switcher. Then in 1960, the loco was purchased by Grover Robbins Jr. in 1960 for the opening of Rebel Railroad in 1961. It remained in service through the park's name changes: Rebel Railroad, Gold Rush Junction, Silver Dollar City Tennessee, and finally Dollywood (1986).
