CSX 9037 rolls across the diamond in Hamlet NC on Q-464. Notice the "S" has been painted over.
The 5288 and 6268 are on Aberdeen Carolina and Western rails as part of the CSX run through power on their grain trains.
Time has passed this old freight building on A&R rails, just outside of Raeford NC
ACWR 9582 with ACWR 3803 and CSX 8100 and 223 climb a small hill in Pinehurst NC with a loaded grain train.
CSX 8852 leads Q-484 in to Hamlet off the East arrival. He later stalled with 7,700 feet of train. Had to have an additional two motors to help him in the yard.
Q-676 pulls in to Hamlet with this very clean CF&E 3881 GP38-2.

An ex READING covered hopper rolls in to Hamlet on F-701, this caught me by surprise.
Amtrak 206 blisters by a Fairmont MT19 motorcar in Parkton NC. The 206 in heading North on the CSX A Line and the motorcar is on the Red Springs and Northern...nee SAL line.
The 4791 races North along the CSX A line. Behind the 4791 is one of CSX's newest GEVO's..the 5922.
A matched pair of BNSF C44's pull in to Hamlet NC.
An ex CR GE leaves Hamlet on Q-491. Could this be Waycross bound and eventually Ohio Central bound ?
The 5209 heads down the Wilmington (NC) sub as it passes through Laurinburg. Notice the ceramic til silos to the far left.

F-701 prepares to pass under the "hospital bridge" in Hamlet. Lead by an NS SD40-2 hi hood, followed by a freshly painted HLCX SD40-2.
With the sun at my back, the shadow of myself and the opposing SAS run along a rusty CSX boxcar. Notice two of three bolts missing just before the boxcars wheelset. This is on the North, South arrival, departure lead or main in Hamlet NC.
CSX 170 crosses the East West diamond in Hamlet. He is heading West towards the Abbeville / Monroe Subs.
This CR caboose, now used as a shoving platform for MoW equipment trains. In fact, it is coupled to a MoW loaded consist in Hamlet NC.

CSX 8730 leads Q-485 out of Hamlet with a picture perfect sky on January 1st, 2006.
This is a terrible shot out of my car window, showing NS local power kicking cars in to their yard just outside of Durham NC.
A hi-hood NS GP 50 is on point of the local power, kicking cars in the yard. It was a great sound, hearing the turbo and non turbo working together.
I spotted this bronze or brass Southern herald embedded in the overhead railroad bridge. You can see at the bottom half of the herald, chip marks where vandels have tried to remove it.
Hard to believe this, but this is a 1933 date nail, still in service on the CSX main line from Hamlet to Charlotte NC; on the Monroe sub division.
