Pictures of Shortlines in NW Louisiana and North Texas
The Port doep not have a reporting mark (at least that I know of).
Cab view (sanctioned by NREX) from Midsouth 1019 the day before it was shipped off to NREX for refurbishing. This was part of a string of Midsouth locomotives that were being shipped north to NREX.
Blacklands RR freight slowly approaches an underpass at Hwy. 69. I liked the way the somewhat overgrown roadbed fades in the horizon.
With the now unused KCS Minden shops in the background, these two LLPX units work the KCS branch in Minden, Louisiana. The branch is now operated by WATCO, which is why this photo is in my shortlines album.
NEKM 3860, marked for the Central Oregon and Pacific, toddles through Wake Village with a surprisingly long freight (I counted 44 cars).
Louisiana Northwest RR units 53 and 55 at the LNW shops in Gibsland, Louisiana.
2 sharply painted Louisiana Northwest RR units at Gibsland, Louisiana.
