CSX Q327-02 heads west through the trees near Farm LanX, just south of MSU. From the looks of things, it appears that 8758 has no AC, so the crew has resorted to using the Ramaire method to keep cool in the cab.

After a brief stop to pick up several Northern Arrow passengers, Amtrak 364 departs East Lansing for Durand, with C&O Private car "Chapel Hill" bringing up the markers.

Amtrak 126 brings a combined westbound Blue Water/Petoskey Northern Arrow (Private car excursion) into the statin at East Lansing.
Well,/kind of. Amtrak 32 sits between the consist of the normal Blue Water, and the Petoskey Northern Arrow excursion trainset, sitting at the East Lansing station.
The consist of the Petoskey Northern Arrow, which was tacked onto the end of Amtrak 365 in Durand. The train is on the final part.of its round trip journey from Chicago to Petoskey, MI.

This one had us (Dane, Steven and I) pretty well stumped. It had been posted on railroadfan.com that this was to be the power for CN 394 on this day. We're not sure if this auctually was 394, but if it was, they forgot something...... BNSF 4170 leads a GP60B past the station.

CN 2632 leads a westbound train across Harrison road and past the platform at the Amtrak station. In the background, we see a hawk flying over the train for a better look.
This would be the first of three recent encounters that I have had with this unit.
My favorite P42, Amtrak 28, is at the point of train 364 on this cloudy, slightly chilly August evening.

Among the railroad equipment owned by Lansing's Board of Water and Light (Power company) is this transfer caboose, which is kept at their Erickson power plant on the southwest side of Lansing, near Millett. The caboose is normally on display at the end of the Erickson spur, but every November it is transported to downtown Lansing for display at "Silver Bells in the City". While I've seen this caboose hundreds of times, this is the first time I have photographed it.
