SOO,CP, and UP power in Minneapolis & Saint Paul.
A few GP38-2s and GP40s line up waiting for the 2816 to get passed. The 4600 will lead the Dresser Turn.
The 4600 and the 4450 sit idle while waiting for the Steam engine while the crews chat for a while before going to work.
The story of the 650, finally gets the "The End" in my book. This unit came down on the WC Transfer to New Brighton a few months back (May sometime) and was interchanged with the CP. It now is back at Humboldt with fresh paint and a new identifier(RLCX).
New paint for NSM. This scheme looks amazing when its fresh.
All of the schemes to grace the newer CP GEs unite at West Dickinson waiting for a manifest to clear.
The whole train in view while in the hole at West Dickinson.
Long are the days that the Northtown Maintained sticker actually meant anything (right aboˆe the ratchet)for the 7119. Now its doing business under CIT Financial, and with its original safety striping still!
A standard Dash 8 trails 290 today. Too bad it wasnt leading the C41-8W!
My 1,500th shot on RRPA, sadly the sun just went down so the lighting sucked. Anyway, the House job switches intermodel around at Central Ave.
Two ACs (how exciting!) lean into it as they head for Humboldt.
Not a bad consist huh? My first catch of the NREX invasion on CP also. Bring on the leasers!
NREX 5431 looks pretty nice, still very very fresh looking.
Almost completely unpatched, even the 450 is coming through. Twenty two years later, still in the same paint.
CP 183 with the 6058 and the 6041 shove the rest of their train into Shoreham.
A consist the crew and I am both happy with. He likes the GEVO, and I like the two NREXs trailing. NREX 4404 and NREX 9294 trail.
Leased to the CP for 6 months. Im sure many of these engines will end their career once this lease is up.
Never even touched by the UP, the 9294 still retains its SP font. A torn "power the mile" sticker still adorns this 20 cylinder beast.
Two of CPs finest pass another pair CPs that were once as loved as the newer GEs.
One hell of a consist rolls under the Parkway bridge as it enters the loop. The gem is the NREX 5417, once a CP engine, and more obviously a KCS.
The neatest NREX unit Ive seen on the CP to date, enters Shoreham with two CP counterparts.
The House Job throttling up at Central Ave.
Shoving back into Shoreham.
Two matched Multimark SD40-2s, both with equal fading on the long hood. 183 shoves back again after making their first cut in Shoreham.
Still SOO Line at Humboldt. Hopefully for many years to come.
The 55XXs arent too common by any means anymore, and CP 183 sports this and another rare beast. Couldnt get a roster shot of the NREX 8822, and they proceeded to tie up in the fenced in yard at Shoreham. Bummer.
CP 599 has some interesting power today. Yessir, nice to see indeed.
A nice looking pair of CP SD40-2s bring a manifest around Foley on the East Main.
Two Red and Whites (6036 trailing) bring the qhort HAT Transfer down the East Main waiting to get a light at Marshall St.
CP 377 comes around the Loop after coming into Northtown from Superior.
CP 183 comes into Shoreham with good power as usual. This job had a single AC44 for a long time, but earlier this year iss almost always 2 SD40-2s or an SD60 mixed in.
CP 372 clears the bridge with three EMDs, all spartan cabs, and all elephant style. Best consist on the CP all morning.
Three EMDs drown out the GE idling while entering Foley Wye, headed for Saint Paul. Foamer Lildebrandt is braving the busy University Ave bridge, just for some audio.
Cloudy skies go away!
Just out of reach for the New Brighton Album, CP 5958 has plenty of ponies assisting with the Dresser Turn this afternoon.
CP 183 rounds the corner on the East Main with two EMDs for power. CP 6040 is trailing.
A nice consist pulls 21 cars up from Humboldt for Shoreham. Nice to have a standard cab leading too!
Two AC44s idje amidst two SD60s.
Two old SD40-2s, both of which have been under CP ownership or still are, and both team up to take a freight to Glenwood. Second unit is NREX 4406, Ex CP, nee UP.
This old beast has been through it all, and is on its third owner.
A going away shot of the tattered EMD. You have to love these old leasers!P10607
Two CP trucks sit by the 4428, which is really showing grey hairs.
The "Humboldt 1" departs the Grove on its way back to the yard.
The 6047 with recently replaced roller bearings heads west to Humboldt paired with the "Always Everywhere" 6045.
A pair of geeps work the switch job this sunny morning.
Humboldt 1 up and down all day. Now with a cut of about 5 boxes, they will run to deliver paper for the Star Tribune.
The 4412 has its spots, but overall is still looking quite nice.
Ready to go home, the conductor hangs on the side of the SOO Geep as they enter Humboldt after delivering off to the Star & Trib.
The 6021 leads the SOO 6034 on the main at Humboldt. Wishing to catch this again in nice sun near Northtown, but had to leave prematurely.
An awesome looking rebuild is 3rd out on the HAT this morning. 6054 led.
Horrible weather conditions hamper my attempt at a perfect roster, but it still a nice sight!
