This is where i will be placing all my shots from Fall 2009 in the Atlanta area. The first series of shots are from a railfanning trip with Ant Davis and David Stewart on September 29th, thanks guys for the great day!
The A&WP Beltline once connected the A&WP main with sister road the Georgia RR's Hulsey yard. Today it is jyst a!neglected and rarely used spur that is used a few times a week to serve Williams Brothers sand. Due to its location in Atlanta's rough southside, few railfans have bothered to shoot it. Hgre we see B40-8 5939 heading up the line at Oakland Junction infront of the Cut Rate Box factory.
We got there a few minutes too late unfortunatly, wouldve been great light.

One of 21 active B36-7's on the CSX roster highballs through Marietta with a work train, the sun was nice enough to pop out of the cloud cover to illuminate this rare catch. Also in its 11th hour is the ex- LV Tuscalora club, which is in the processes of being scrapped...
A few feet back wouldve been good but i didnt quite know where the shadows were cause the sun popped out just for this train.
First time ive done a B&W in a while, only thing that made this trash look half decent.
