When I was 7 me and dad always went to Evansville every other Saturday and would see this engine from 1994-1995 working at Poseyville. Dad only shot this engine 2 times. I think because I begged him and they always seemed to have the Cargill Yellow Hoppers.

Small bridge half mile north of the old IC/Sou Crossing
IC the went to Wabash and Ohio then Indiana Hi-Rail till 1997 when a train Derailed past the Wabash bridge. That ended sevice on this line.

Serval short lines tried to make this line work after IC but they didnt last long. Wabash and Ohio, and Indiana Hi-Rail.

Effingham to Kinmunddy IL Run. Last IC sd40-2r i got to see run before they retired them.
New track being lay to help reinstate this IC line. Only 1/10 of a mile has been layied so far.
The Paducah, KY Shops of the Illinois Central built a total of 76 "Mountain" type locomotives between 1937 and 1943. The 2500 series were built at the IC Paducah shops from older IC 2-10-2 boilers originally cuilt by Lima.
Still has Signal, Track and Telegraph Poles getting ran by weeds.
