A "last-minute" tip-off about a special move on the RSR prompted me to drop everything and get out for this chase. If I had been able to make a better plan I would have left the house earlier because I missed everything on the southbound chase between Rochester and Pavilion. The whole point of the move was to get a car with an unbalanced load from Rochester to Silver Springs. The train was restricted to 10 mph which made for a very easy chase going south, however, the light-power move back to Rochester was normal track speed of 30 mph.
An unbalanced load in this one car train called for a special move on the RSR today. Here they are heading for Silver Springs at mile post 38.
Slowly working their way south.
Southbound over US route 20A at 10 mph.
Rounding a curve on a steep grade at Rock Glen.
Here at Rock Glen the track crosses a private driveway; I'm guessing that the kids wait for the school bus in this little green building when the weather is bad.
