Tehachapi Mountains east of Bakersfield
The locomotives are 77 feet higher, and 3/4 of a mile further down the track than the cars of they are passing over.
Heading downhill. The rear locomotives are pushing on the end of the train the foreground locomotives are pulling. The train is halfway through the hairpin curve.
UP 5473 waits on the siding as the northbound slows for the horseshoe curve. The meet will occur in about 4 minutes.
This eastbound still has half its train on Tehachapi Loop. It is passing through tunnel #10, with the twists and turns being obvious
An eastbound hammers part an old farmhouse on the approach to tunnel 4. It's really rare to see UP power in harness with BNSF.
This west bound is a few miles out of Mojave on a sparkling day.
This eastbound is rounding the final curve that will bring it into the town of Tehachapi and finish the climb from Bakersfield.
This southbound is on the last few miles before the yard at Mojave.
A new string of cement hoppers has been spotted at the plant in Monolith.
As a storm pounds Mojave in the background, the 7324 pulls the double-stacks uphill through Cache Creek canyon toward Tehachapi.
Westbnound out of Barstow and past Mojave thru Cache Creek canyon east of Tehachapi.
A westbound arcs through the reverse turns immediately east of the cement plant at Monolith.
Of of the few remaining silver/red/yellow warbonnets is at the head of over a mile of empty grain hoppers.
The BNSF main just outside Mojave curves toward Barstow at daybreak.
Heading west thru Keene, approaching the siding at Rowen.

Three units on the front of over a mile of Ethanol Tankers
Past the Lehigh Cement plant at Monolith, a load of empty ethanol tankers returns to be reloaded.
Five units cut into the middle of all those Ethanol Tankers
