SOO 6050 leading CP detour train 414 through Vernon, New Jersey on Monday April 12, 2004.
With the major grade done with the 99 is finally rolling fast heading west.
here you can see the NYSW WS5 drilling cars down at their yard in Ridgefield Park.
This Saturday SU99 is seen here slicing through downtown Butler, New Jersey.
The power was out in this area as the 99 rolled thrWugh, but the battery back up worked well for the grade crossing.
Finally at track speed the 99 blasts thropgh mgking a loud racket while rounding a sharp bend.
At this point the SU99 was movin fast as the engineer gave me a curteous horn blast while going under the bridge.
Here the 99 is still making its way up grade as this beautiful yellow jacket leads the way.
Here the 99 rolls past us at speed leading about 100 freight cars.
Here the 99 lays on the horn for a crossing. Just minutes ago i was in a deli getting a drink as the 99 blasted through town.
Down in Ridgefield Park the 1802 heads west a little to drill some cars in the near by yard.
The SU99 is at speed as it passed me and i got my first relativly succesful night shot.
A long cut of autoracks followed about 30 or so freight cars on tonights SU99.
Q156 is heading eastbound here past Victoria's Inn. Sorry for the blury image as i had the wrong setting on the camera.
Heading into the morning sun detour train Q156 rolls past the old New Foundland train station and semaphore signal.
After setting out the mixed freight on the head end Q156 heads south smoking it up before entering back on to CSX tracks at CP3.
Here HATX 504 sits with a cut of cars that was dropped off by detour train Q156. You can see that the radiator fans are still blue a sign of this units history when it used to be with the Boston and Maine.
Here the power for that nights Q271/SU99 heads east with the HATX and LLPX unit.
Here a BNSF articulated autorack passes by infront of the crossing illuminated by my mother's car headlights and the flash from my camera.

The SU99 with a CN SD75I on the point rolls westward towards the Norfolk Southern Hudson Secondary.
Here the Q271 is passing through Franklin, NJ and in a couple of minutes the crew will be changed and a road crew put on.
The detour Q271 pounds across Edison Rd in Ogdenburg, NJ with dynamic breaks screaming.
Here CSX 5103 leads detour train Q271 westbound on a cloudy September afternoon.
The power from the SU100 sits in the engine area with the rebuilt 3618 leading.
GP18 1802 sits under the Rt. 46 bridge awaiting its next assignment.
With the trees turning behind it the M1 waits for the next excursion train or inspection train that it will be used on.
After getting moving again after a second stall the SU99 gets some speed for a brief period of time.
The first of two SU99's chuggs its way through Stockholm after quickly stopping to take SD40-2T 3010 offline.
At this point the 99 was blasting through at trackspeed with its long and heavy train.
SU99X flashes by the Old Rudetown Rd crossing in Vernon, NJ he has the clear up to Pelton Road by this time.
Activated by SU99X's passage the crossing gates light and bell were both working well.
Detour train Q271 with Illinois and Midland SD45 462 blasts through at track speed. What a show.
After breaking some the Q271 glides past with its mile and a half long train of empty autoracks.
Led by tqo UP C40-8's this detour Q156 blasts through heading towards Sparta Junction where it will meet Q271.
Here you can see ZINC lit up by the flash of my camera with the double stackers whisking by.
Well we stepped out of the ice rink after practice and Q156 could be heard blasting east. Here it is by Rt 23 with me using my brothers car as a tripod.

Here the 99 crawls through Warwick on a beautiful Saturday morning. The train barely has enough room to make it but makes it through safely.
The former L&HR station sits by the tracks and looks beautiful as the 3016 creeps past it.
