Utah Railway SD50S locomotives pull a freight train at night in Salt Lake City, UT, May 9, 2019. The lead engine is in G&W orange colors, but the rear SD50S is still in "Original" Utah Railway Red and Gray colors! There are only two left on the Utah! I saw both SD50S engines like this! Quick shot, not my best quality; but with the MKs gone these classic painted units are now rare on the Utah Railway.

Two Australian SD50S and a GP were left in Martin Yard to rest, while other power was being prepared for the coal train coming up later in the day.

It's too bad I left my pole filter back in AZ :)

Built for Hammersly Iron in Austrailia by General Motors Electro Motive Division in 1982, Utah \ailway SD50S 6061 basks in pleasant autumn sunshine with its painted trucks and black fuel tank. Hammersly Iron got the SD50 two years before any U.S. Road got them. U.S. Railroads would not get"SD50's until 1984.

An ''Almost Pure'' sting of five Utah Railway MK5000C's in Utah Railway red,yellow and gray colors with 5005 in G&W colors await their next assignment at Provo Yard.
