More locomotive shop power.
With Amtrak by, and the sun now turned well to the western skies, it was time to head up to the Knox Highway overpass overlooking BNSFs massive Galesburg Yard. Last year when dad and I were here for Railroad Days, the bridge was closed for re-decking. But, it was back open again this year and I was ready to see what sort of goodies Galesburg was hiding today. When I got up there, I was greeted with plenty of orange at the locomotive shops, but there were plenty of other colors to be seen here too. It is usually a rainbow of colors here most days. I think the strangest part of being up here though was having the entire bridge to myself! Not a single other railfan was up here, a luxury that Dad and I dont usually get when we visit here in June. Definitely a much different experience!
View from bus! The "Hump" job at Galesburg! This includes an ex BN SD60M, ex BN SD40-2B in BN green and ex ATSF C44-9W! 2024 Galesburg RR Days V.I.P. Bus Tour. My first time going on this! Well worth it, except this was the first time no photos allowed inside the shops! (Pentax 645 Medium Format camera, Kodak Ektar 100 print film)

I couldn't ID the FP9. I'm suspecting that this is one of the Keokuk Junction's ex-Algoma Central FP9s. Apparently, they had more F-units that were being kept around for spare parts to keep the main three runnings. Anybody got a numbers or reporting marks for this? Any idea where it's going? Museum? Silvis? Regional? Scrap? Back to Canada?
Built March 1973 as BN 6352.

It was cool to see the GP60B in H1 paint yesterday, but now a SD40-2B still in BN paint, pretty awesome!
