This was definitely the catch of the day!
Gotta love these old locomotives! This was the first railfanning trip I had ever seen a C40-9, or even for that matter a GE Spartan Cab on the mainline and not in a deadline!

I found the GSMFPR idling at the Circle fOUR grain silo before the rest of our railfanning group showed up and was shocked to find this Norfolk Southern GE Standard Cab unit sitting out here in the west desert of Utah! This was going to be a fun day, I could tell it already!
