Amtrak 136 leads 335 east through Rockwood in the early morning mist. Metroliner 9800 and Pacific Bend would trail on this train to be dropped off in DC.

A P42 leads an ALC on the southbound Floridian.

1.14.2024 Charlottesville, VA. A muddied AMTK 136 on the point this day of the #20 Crescent as it waits for an on time departure.. A few weeks prior it was the lead on the N.E. Regional #156. A few days before that I photographed this locomotive coming through Charlottesville leading the Cardinal. Behind it today is the newer AMTK 310.

12.30.23 Charlottesville, VA. Under cloudy, wintery skies, AMTK 136 moves the northbound NE Regional #156 toward its next stop at Culpeper. My son and his girlfriend were aboard for a visit to here home in Warrenton. Running 13 minutes late, this is one of the longest consists I have seen in a while. Holiday traffic, no doubt.

12.8.2023 Mechums River. AMTK 136 crossing the Mechums River bridge running on time on the westbound Cardinal. It is all uphill from here to the Blue Ridge Tunnel beneath Rockfish Gap.

I was lucky enough to catch the westbound Empire Builder rolling into Milwaukee on my bike ride home from the Brewers game - Amtrak 322 led the train today, helped by 136, after trailing on yesterdays eastbound (the other picture in this album) I wish the lighting was a bit better, but I can't ask for much on a chance encounter like this!
