Bnsf 4727 leads a H-MEMGAL east through Old Monroe Mo.
I dont see a lot of CSX power in South Texas, but on this day I caught CSX 3266 leading a WB BNSF tank train at W. Violet. BNSF 7586 serves as DPU on this train.
You can barely see it but on the left corner of the photo is a semi driver's front bumper on his rig. As he started to cross the tracks the lights started flashing and the driver panicked and instead of continuing across he stops and backs up which resulted in him knocking the crossing arm down right in front of me. I called the BNSF Signal Deskto report it and as I did the driver decides to leave the scene. I explained to the Signal Desk what had happened and gave him the location and advised that there was a southbound about to head toward the crossing and that Dispatch needed to be notified to let the crew know to stop and flag the crossing per rule 6.32 of the General Code of Operating Rules.

The CSX unit makes a nice contrast to the BNSFs on this outfit. It seems a bit strange to see the bare mountain peaks with the aspen this far advanced. Must be indian summer.
There is that barn!
If Two Medicine Creek bridge is adjacent to the most photographed barn in Montana, surely this must be the most photographed lake with its imposing backdrop and rail action.
Here comes the 4871 East through Java East, launching its attack upon mountain grade.
It takes awhile for the sun to intrude upon the deep shadows of the Flathead valley this time of year; and what nicer development than for an eastbound to appear after Ive finished my coffee at the Izaak Walton Inn? Here the 4871 East comes across Goat Lick Trestle; set against the vastness of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
