After expiring on our hours of service waiting for the cab to take us back to Syracuse, I snapped a couple pictures of us sitting at South Franklin St
With little time left to work on train SY-1, heading South from Syracuse, we backed our train onto the Cinncinatus Industrial and expired on our hours of service. With no recrew called, we tied down the train and waited for the cab to take us back to Syracuse. The sun was setting so before it got dark I took a couple pictures of us parked at South Franklin St.

StL&H 5448 is on the point of SU-100 at Riidgefield Park, NJ in the early morning of 12/4/1999. The 5448 was built as Texas & Pacific 831, then it became Missouri Pacific 3130. It was sold to NRE as its 3130. It was rebuilt in 1993 and was painted primer grey. In 1994, it was purchased by CP Rail as its 5448 during a mass purchase of second hand SD40-2s. The 5448 never was painted CP red. It was patched as StL&H 5448 in 1998. The StL&H 5448 was sold to Mandak for scrap in May of 2005.
BH 1 starts for Syracuse behind two EMDs and an Alco as it rolls past the Agway mill at BX.
Train speeds on the Northern Division were modest, 30 MPH in most places, so chasing was not a challenge most of the time. After shooting a train at Forks, you could easily beat him to this spot, where the tracks crossed US 11 south of Whitmey Point. Here you were afforded an open view of the train as it approached the crossing. It will be a good wait for the 110 cars to clear. I wont beat him to Lisle, only three miles up, but Killawog shouldnt be a problem.
BH 1 rolls past the Killawog Red Mills, about to cross into Cortland County behind a power set that includes two SD 45s and an ex SP tunnel motor.
BH 1 rolls past the old DLW station at Homer, now the police department there. Passenger service on the line ended in 1958.
BH 1 rolls through the switch onto the Syracuse Branch, one of the ex BN SD 45s leading 110 cars toward a CSX connection. He'll cross NY 12 in a moment, to the consternation of a long line of motorists.
SU 99 rolls down the connecting track from the D&H back to its own line as a late blooming tree gives one last burst of color.
NYSWs BH 1 rolls north through what was once BX at the south end of Bevier St as CP 164 waits to get through BD and into East Binghamton.
ABBU pulls to the north end crossovers, and will shortly be on its way to BD and the Southern Tier.
BUME rolls around the big curve a mile west of Smithboro.
BUMEs power has passed between the blades at Tioga Center. The eastbound signal has yet to fall.
BUME rolls out the east end of Owego, which is welcoming folks heading west along NY 17C. Theyre probably glad to see the train go, as its 60 cars have the crossings tied up.
The KL 1 we saw at Campville is now passing the hay field at Miller Beach Rd. Today's train has had some freight added ahead of its K Line containers.
A natural combination. KL 1 rolls west at MP 231 with a set of yellow and black diesels.
BUME rolls past the Erie station at Owego in the glint of late day sun. The station, last I checked, was still occupied by a restaurant. If its the same one I remember, the food was mostly burger and fries type stuff, and pretty good.
KL 1 rolls past the hay field(this year) at Miller Beach Rd with a green SD 45 splicing a pair of yellowjackets.
A recent rain has left the field next to the tracks a muddy mess as BUME rolls past behind a trio of yellowjackets.

MTPL rolls under the NY 17C overpass at west Endicott, the one that welcomes all to the BC Open. The tournament is in September, so plenty of time to get a round or two in, and chase a few trains, before then.
MTPL rolls along the Susquehanna in this wide angle view taken from the guardrail along NY 17C.
This was not a cornfield meet in the traditional sense-the trains passed without incident, but there was surely a cornfield in the distance as MTPL met BUOI just west of Tioga Center.
An MTPL empty coal train comes around the big curve at MP 231 along NY 17C as it forwards the cars to NS at Buffalo.

A BH 1 crew is using SU 99s power to make up their train at QD.
SLN 5 approaches BD along Court St in Binghamton with a run through CP unit trailing the usual NYSW SD 45, today with 65 platforms of Sea Land containers. The whole gang is along to check out the action. That's the Binghamton State Hospital up on the hill, where most of the train crews think the fans belong.
A 251 Hanjin train rolls past the rocks at Wellsburg with 110 platforms and 14 freight.
The fall color has started to erupt, complementing the NYSW units, seen at Southport on a 251.
A trio of NYSW units lead 251, the Hanjin train, past a farm in Southport as the colors start to light up for fall.
Any other time, an SD 45 would be the focus of attention, as by this point, except on a few lines, they were becoming a rarity. Today its playing second fiddle to the steam engine on the other end. NYSW 3634 leads past the post office in Blodgett Mills, just south of Cortland.
The rear of the fair train was anticlimactic, with an SD 45 providing the power on the south end.
The rear of the Broome County Fair train rolls its trailing SD 45 past the ex DLW station at Marathon.
The south end of the Broome County Fair train got almost no attention, though an SD45 was always a good subject for a photo. The trailing diesel was used to facilitate a pull-pull operation, as there was nowhere to turn the train on the line. The rear end is seen passing the flood wall in Lisle in a scenic setting.
Train 255 rolls west between Chemung and Wellsburg seen from NY 427 in a panoramic winter scene.
