NS GP38AC 4135 and NS C36-7 8502 power northbound 47-car ballast train No. 921 at Slidell, LA. This train will follow Amtrak No. 20, the northbound Crescent, and dump ballast from Slidell to Honey Island Swamp.
This unit was rebuilt and chopnosed less than a year after this photo was taken.
On an interesting note this train had a young female crew member but I wasn't able to get a picture of her.
