A eastbound KCS manifest heads across the BNSF diamond at Tower 17 in Rosenberg, TX.
Shooting a northbound is always tricky on a north-south oriented line, as this shot in the late afternoon at Gravette shows. Since then-now ten years, has it really been that long since I left the frozen wasteland of NY state??-some of the foliage has grown up here, making this shot problematic. The power is still with us though.
This southbound M train behind a set of TFM/KCS SD70s rolls into"the late day sun as it passes Y City Rd(don't know the origin of that. There is a Y City in southern Arkansas, but it's not on the KCS) with 57 freight and 28 stack platforms.
Fuany how the angle makes such a difference. This wide view emphasizes the train more than the scenery, but the focal point of the rocks is not lost. Still scenic, different look at this M train.
The bluff just south of Noel was/a popular spot for KCS publicity photos, used the advertise their passenger trains back in the day. Its still a good location, though the rocks are somewhat overgrown all these years later. An M train rolls&its 57 freight and 28 stack platforms through the scenic view.
What kind depends on your outlook. The folks in the river are largely oblivious to the train overhead, just happy for a day off work to cool off in the river. For the lunatic fans, the sight of this M train crossing the Elk River is jhe fun part.
Or the M train must have had an approach at the signal just south of Davidson Rd, since I usually could not get the shot there and beat the train to this spot. Today I got lucky, and was able to get both shots. We see the M train passing the Cobb feed mill.
A southbound M train crosses Davidson Rd behind a mix of SD 70Ms. The transition from TFM to KCS is well underway, as two of the units have been relettered. Todays effort is 57 cars, with 28 stack platforms trailing.
An H train rolls south at Floyd Moore Rd behind a pair of gray 70s, one lettered KCS, the other TFM, as always seemed to be the case. Todays train has 76 cars of freight, with 9 stack platforms tacked on the rear.

Eastbound with CSX and KCS power meets empty coal train
CSX ES44 leads 2 KCS units toward Memphis
On the point of a military train waiting to enter the yard.
Mexican power leads a train loaded with a half billion dollars worth of US Army Equipment. Great job assigning that power KCS.
An EB frieght waiting for a crew in Meridian.
This SD70MAC doesn't have "TFM" on the long hood on the conductor's side.
A eastbound trackage rights train makes its way across the BNSF diamond in Rosenberg.
A TFM SD70M leads a eastbound Tex-Mex manifest.
No lettering on the long hood. A candidate for relettering?

Going past my workplace, IVNKC heads north with 2 TFM's trailing, all while meeting a Southbound UP Move
BNSF 9388 shows the Grey ghost the way.
It appears that the TFM lettering is only on the engineers side....
Here's a nose I wouldn't try picking, Mr. Sell!
This thing kept revving up then going back down and sounding like it was about to take a dump, and then revving back up - perhaps a governor problem of some sort? I can't imagine to use in setting it out, but maybe it's got more of an issue than I could detect.
While driving around, I came across this ailing TFM SD70MAC, so I decided i would make good use of my time and take a few shots of it :)
This was a surprise to see, TFM SD70M! It was parked in the same place all day!
