EMD built this SD40-2 in February of 1976 originally as Burlington Northern #6727 but was sold to Illinois Central around 1990. IC renumbered it to 6118. It was still on the IC roster in 2009 but its current status is presently unknown. This is a photo from the Dennis E. Conniff collection and is now part of my collectin.

WC 3014 creates a timeless moment with its ditch lights on and three standard cabs trailing. Lashups like this would come to an abrupt end in coming years.
The WC is just about done for the day today after picking up the Commercial cars and air testing. It was great to see a WC leading down here again.
With the hand brakes set, and the crew ordered up, three veteran SD40-2s wait for a crew to take them back to Stevens Point. Seeing three SD40-2s together again was a welcomed sight.
The 6115 makes another trip to New Brighton, but this time its facing the other way. It was great to see three SD40-2s running together.
Steve performs an air test on the train before shoving back into New Brighton. This was one awesome lashup of all ICs in CN paint.
Pumping up the air on the Commercial cars before heading out onto the main. Seeing three repaints like this was really cool.
Up close and personal with IC 6115 while it waits for the light to cross the diamond at New Brighton
After the WC made up its train, they had to make a run out to Somerset to pick up ONE car. Here he is coming back to New Brighton, and I actually got a decent shot of him leading too.
westbound rack train.
IC,CN, and even the 2500, take the train Scross the diamonds to end the morning.
This will be my last documented photo of the 6115.
This is the 7th time I have seen the 6115... please go away. This is officially my last picture of the 6115.
According to the detector here, the train was southbound, no defects were reported, temperature was 80 degrees, total axles were 382, and the speed was 34 m.p.h. Video of the tail end of the train and detector recording is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jls6wyUjbc
