BNSF 9647 Westbound Coal Train at dusk.
Former Vomit Bonnet is serving as the DPU of UP's E NPJEBM which is a train bound for Eagle Butte Mine in Wyoming via BNSF
This area was heavily overgrown two years ago, but an F3 tornado on Jan. 21, 2017 cleared things out while killing four.

BNSF 9647 is the DPU on CN Train C704
I had been keeping tabs on this guy since I saw it running around on the Orin line working the coal train to Dave Johnson power plant outside of Glenrock,WY. Then after a few days I wasn't able to find it on any adjoining subdivisions so I figured it went west, but to my surprise it was sitting at the diesel pit here in Alliance this morning when we were hostling power around the yard and after work I decided to get a picture of it finally for records sake. Wish it was still in the old paint though.

This was on my second trip to Alliance I believe. This is a 35mm photo. I used my iPhone to take a picture of it to put on this site. This was the only time I photographed BNSF 9647 in this scheme. Enjoy.
Too bad it's not still in the Barf-Bonnet scheme.
Note how the SD70MAC lettering is not on the sill, it's above the yellow and black striping on the nose.
