Dormant F10 as it stays
Not concidered a diesel terminal by any means but a doube eogine swap on the Danbury shuttles were taking place taking the F's off for the leased Amtrak P40DC's. This w`s the last time both shuttle trains had F-units on them at the same time. The 203 trainset was there for fueling.
A nice look of the then oldest active F unit in revenue service. This unit is now scrapped along with 410 and FL9 2008.
Metro-North F10 #413 idles at the Stamford, CT shops! At this time, it was still in service as back-up power! I have never seen the F10 or FL9 locos pulling a train, so this was as good as it got for me! This is better than nothing of course because all F-units have been stored out of service (as of 2009)! I did make a few trips with Dad trying to catch them before they were gone and this was one of those trips! PHOTO ID #5357450 is picture of CDOT FL9 #2014 I saw in 2008! The old and new share space on the south end of the old Harmon diesel shop complex. The 215 pictured just came back from rebuild a few days prior to the photo being taken.
Metro-North F10 #413 sits idling at the platforms in Stamford, CT ready to head north up to Danbury.
The oldest F-unit in regular passenger service at the time sits coupled up with the wire train in Stamford yard. The train was just visiting as it was displaced by the carnival train in Bridgeport, CT.
The three remaining Metro-North F10 locomotives sit in front of the diesel shop in croton awaiting disposition. Also both BLO-6 switchers can be seen to the far left.
All F units that once were the back bone of Metro North Rail Road have now been stored.
train 1810 heads back to Danbury with CDOT FL-9M 2014 on the head end while 1841 heads into Stamford yard with F10's 411 and 413 on the east end. This was the last time both mini's had F-units on them.
