Power used by GWI subsidiaries CIRR and Hilton and Albany RR is seen in the CIRR yard in Hilton. I think that was me that told you to get the photos of these units in their classic schemes before the corporate scheme became the order of the day...remember?? And while a good looking scheme, a lot of the classic are falling by the wayside.
SD's and SW's in the corporate orange/black of parent GWI are seen operating on the CIRR and Hilton and Albany RR. This scene is from the CIRR yard at Hilton.
The GSWR 2880 sporting a new short nose.
Looks like the 1505 is getting a rebuild and will possibly sport the new corporate orange paint. The 1505 is the last CIRR unit still in the white paint scheme in the area.
A bit of an odd scene at the CIRR shops shows a former RDC car most recently used by Virginia Railway Express and stored at Shellman GA on the GSWR for years spending some time at the CIRR shop for reasons unknown. Alongside are a pair of SW1500's still in faded AN and CIRR schemes.
Having brought down a coal train, NS power is now starting the task of building the Hilton and Albany local that will head to Albany tomorrow. The trailing unit is the Virginian heritage unit.
The CIRR switch local is about to back into a yard track so that NS power used to bring a coal train to Hilton GA can pass. The coal train power is led by the NS Virginian heritage unit.
The CIRR switch local arrives with a somewhat oddball line up of a CIRR SW1500 leading a Bayline GP38 still in the green and yellow classic scheme. All these lines are units of GWI and power moves freely among them.
Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad SW1500 #1505 was built May 1973 as P&LE #1542
CIRR 1505, the last unit in the CIRR scheme on the property, is seen headed back to the paper mill engine?light after making a delivery to the NS at Hilton.
Looking toward the chip mill trackage at Abbeville AL. CIRR 1505, a SW1500, holds down the duties of the Abbeville chip mill switcher. The chip mill ships out anywhere from 20-25 carloads of ships a day to the paper mill in Panama City FL. This former ACL/SCL trackage is now operated by the Bayline. Both the Bayline and the CIRR are units of GWI.

The Bayline local is seen passing through Headland with a former AN unit leading and a SW1500 still in Chattahoochee Industrial RR colors trailing. The CIRR unit was headed to the chip mill at Abbeville where it will serve as the switcher for the plant.
The Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad switch local is seen on the north end of the CIRR yard returning from the NS yard with a cut of cars. The 2 SW1500's are in a simplified paint scheme but still display the "red over blue" logo.

Last locomotive on the roster in the classic white paint. Dont know how long it will stay that way.
Sitting in the old CIRR woodyard waiting for the next assignment.
A pair of CIRR SW1500's smoke it up as they pull on 76 carloads of coal.
The CIRR switch local showed up today with 3 SW1500's all in differant paint schemes. An AN paint scheme and CIRR paint scheme has the G&W painted locomotive surrounded. The CIRR unit, the last in the area in a CIRR paint scheme, was dropped off for the Chattahoochee Bay to pick up most likely to go to the shop in Panama City. While it is faded, hopefully it won't come back in orange/black.
Two EMD SW1500's smoke it up like the ALCO's of old on the CIRR as they lug 59 cars of coal on the undalating terrain of the CIRR line between Hilton and Cedar Springs.

The Chattahoochee Bay has a somewhat odd line up today. Former NS (the original one) GP38 is long hood forward and leads another GP38 and a SW1500 still in a faded CIRR paint scheme. The track they are sitting on is actually past of the CIRR so the SW1500 is on home rails once again. Their train, including 28 carloads of pipe, can be seen in the background on the former CofG/Southern line to Dothan AL.
