Burlington Northern Santa Fe train S-LACCHI1-18 (Los Angeles to Chicago double-stacks) departs Hobart Yard, just southeast of downtown Los Angeles, on September 19th, 1998. The small BNSF initials under the cab number on Dash 9-44CW 4730 is an indicator that this is one of a batch of GE diesels delivered to the BNSF without yellow lettering or striping, in order to speed up delivery from the factory.
