My first ever pic at the CSX Yard shows the scene just minutes after a major thunderstorm passed through - with the late afternoon sunshine lighting up the entire yard - as the storm moves off on the horizon.

In the right place - right time - surprise category - on our way back from a day trip to the Medina Railway Museum, we happened to pass by the CSX Niagara Falls yard - just after a big thunderstorm roared through. Here you can see the rain clouds heading off on the horizon - providing a dramatic backdrop - with just about the entire yard lit up by the setting sun.

These two engines are on an eastbound mixed freight here this evening at 18:15. I can't wait to see where the next sighting of the NYS&W unit is!

Railfanning after work today was like the old days for me; no plan, no scanner, and a cheap camera! I got out of work and headed for the Belle Isle siding to see if anything was there, as I was gettin' close I could see the tail end of a string of tankers headin' east around the end of Onondaga Lake near the Carousel Mall. I changed course and headed straight for CP286 to wait it out.........Nothing. Started heading back westward for home and then saw this!
