The eastbound gets up to track speed-70 MPH-as it meets the westbound. There must have been another eastbound in the picture, as the westbound stayed put. I was on a road with no shoulder, so could not stay there, and had to get a move on anyway. But it was a good start to the day.
The eastbound is bearing down on me, and I shot a tele of it as it neared the crossing, two units and a lot of Amazon smiles coming at me.
In December 2023, I went to visit a good friend in Belen, NM. I didnt get to see much the first day out, but the second day of the trip was quite productive. I stayed at the Amarillo KOA, which is within sight of the Transcon. I saw a westbound holding, and went out to shoot the standing train. As I pulled up to the crossing, an eastbound was approaching, a pair of GEs with 46 stack platforms and 33 TOFC in tow.
4467 appears to be having an identity crisis
Eastbound intermodal, damaged from a vehicle collision earlier in the day.
A Z train rumbles west at 1307.
A BNSF manifest with a colorful lashup sits at Englewood Yard east of Tower 87 waiting for a crew change
This was the last train I shot on the Fort Collins branch before moving to Alabama. The Great Western delivered this blade train to the UP at Milliken with one BNSF unit! Here it is rounding the curve southeast of Milliken. The Dent branch left the FTC line at this location. In early 2016, the GWR rebuilt the Windsor-Greeley segment of the ex Colorado & Southern line and now most interchange with the UP is handled in a new yard west of Greeley.

BNSF 4467 - CP 8507 - BNSF 4164 remains in the passing lane, the last glimmer of BNSF 5526 at the back of the fast northbound covered hopper consist in the distance on the now opening lane (just a handful of cars in front of the distant light tree) and the slower northbound BNSF 4005 triple-header gets a little breathing room as she passes off her port-bow. The remaining covered hopper sort shifting into the north ladder sort yard snakes into the frame (the new turn-table is immediately to the left of the frame). And thats all the time we have before the bells toll and signal were late.
BNSF 4467 - CP 8507 - BNSF 4164 triple on pause in the passing lane just before a plethora of action Sunday morning - what a great day to choose morning services instead of evening! Unfortunately I only have 18 minutes and counting before the bells toll. No problem... until that single set of lights in the distance on the other side of the bridge separates into two on-coming consists. Dang... and glancing out to the service area shows a whole pen full of units waiting to show up on a camera sensor. Double dang. (It also made it much harder than usual to select which images to put up to represent each unit/group, so if you have any special interest in any of these, holler and Ill see what I can do to fill any requests.)
Roster shot.
4 Unit's power a long EB stack train down up and down Cardy hill on the Marceline Sub.
BNSF 4826 with BNSF 4467 charge through the Felida crossing with a light northbound grain train empty. As the pusher finally passes the lens, little of it is visible through the heavy rain streaks - not even worth posting... time to pack it up and start drying off.
Heading across the flyover and over top Santa Fe Junction.
First time finding this spot in Kc Thanks to a buddy of mine for the help.
