This ex SOO GP 30 was living a second career in retirement at an elevator in Mankato. The MJRX reporting mark is for Railway Service Contractors
She's starting to show her age as the paint is fading fast and showing us that old WC Gold underneath
At one time SOO had a fleet of GP 30s. Its nice to see one still around, useful to its owners 56 years(!!) after it was built. This one is at an elevator in, where else?? Minnesota.
Nice to see this ex-SOO, ex-WC GP30 still being used at the grain elevator.
MJRX 711 and 9010
I initially thought the MJRX 9010 might be destined for the Wisconsin & Southern, since that was the fate of the MJRX ex-UTAH SD40M-2s that are now WSOR 4076 and 4077. However, it turns out it and ex-WC/SOO 711 were temporary lease power, but both suffered from mechanical problems and are shelved awaiting shipment back to Missouri and MJRX.
This ex-SOO/WC GP30 on ALCo trucks is on lease to the WSOR.
