Check out the goofy looking headlight on the back.

This train had been waiting at Okemos for Amtrak, and the stack train, to come by. It finally got permission to proceed east onto Single track after waiting nearly 40 minutes. This was quite an impressive (and noisy) power set. They even had a CSX unit on the rear end. That's just plain wierd.

5908 leads the same manifest we saw in Shaftsburg into the Chicago Wye, as it moves to the Holly Sub. The engineer opened the throttle on all three locomotives as they went through the wye, and the sound was unbelievable.

The DWP Lead manifest continues east through Shaftsburg.

Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific SD40 5908 leads a short eastbound freight into double track at Shaftsburg. EDIT: I now feel exteremely luckly to have caught this.....This scene can never be repeated again as all DW&P SD40s have been retired by CN as of January 30, 2005. They really did Deliver with pride....
