I like lineside hardware, and by chance picked a spot with a signal. The train passes the automatic.
A trip to the Alabama Gulf coast for us involves running US 65 from Pine Bluff to Lake Village, much of which is next to UPs ex MP line from Little Rock to Alexandria LA. Once in a while we see something, as on the return trip, where we caught a southbound with NS power and 172 cars. Note the railfan chase vehicle at left.
