Taken from the ROW of the old Dunkirk Branch as the train passes under the Loops. There was snow up to my waist and it was an 850ft hike to the top of the loops. I thought I was going to drop dead of either hypothermia or a heart attack before I got there.
Arriving back in Gowanda
PThat is the "Dayton Loops" the train is passing through. Overhead would have been the right of way for the northern stretch of the Dunkirk Branch, which went up to Lake Erie ports at Dunkirk.
Shoving south out of Gowanda. All trains shoved back to Dayton, and then had the FPAs pull them back to Gowanda.
