After the Z train, the bridge tender and BNSF La Crosse gave permission to CN L586 to come across the river and do their work at Bishop. Even though I had shot the IC 3101 coming through the tunnel yesterday, Dad had not, so thats where we shot the local. I went with something a little different though, grabbing a wider angle shot of the train already out of the tunnel.
With permission from the bridge tender and BNSF to come across the river, I raced over to the other side and grabbed CN L586 popping out of the East Dubuque tunnel.
CP 541 rolls into town with my first KCS leader of the day passing CN L586. It was raining so hard at this point it was almost impossible to keep rain drops out of the lens.
After the ballast train, BNSF slowed down, but CP was finally coming to life as a northbound CP 541 was approaching from the south. CN L586 was also waiting for permission across the river. IC and GTW repaints are in charge of the local for this visit.
IC 3101 (GP40R) and GTW 4920 (GP38-2) leads L52381-15 over S. Mason St. in Appleton, WI after working the FOXYs Appleton, WI yard.
A CN train crosses Clayton Ave. (and crosses the border from Fox Crossing, Winnebago Co., WI, to the Town of Clayton, Winnebago Co., WI) as it heads west along former SOO rails at Town of Clayton, Winnebago Co., WI, on 26 Feb. '23. Fox Crossing, WI, was formerly Town of Menasha, Winnebago Co., WI, from 1855 until 14 Apr. 2016. I was thrilled to see a caboose in the consist. Sorry, but I will not willingly utter the phrase "shoving platform" to describe a piece of rolling stock which is obviously a caboose. WC 15 is the former AC 9602, although one reference claims it was AC 9606.
A CN local crosses Mud Creek via the former C&NW bridge as it heads northeast at Fox Crossing, Winnebago Co., WI (formerly Town of Menasha, Winnebago Co., WI, from 1855 until 14 Apr. 2016) on 12 Feb. '23. A pier for the former SOO timber trestle bridge can be seen beyond this bridge.

IC 3101 (GP40R) and CN 9515 (GP40-2LW), in charge of L52381-18, roll north after pausing to work the FOXYs Appleton, WI yard. Seen from 4th St.
