EL E8A #832 leads an eastbound across the B&O diamonds at Sterling. This interlocking was the scene of a near head-on collision between B&O and EL trains in 1965 that killed five railroaders. There was one survivor of that crash that I had the priviledge of working with on a couple of occasions. He didn't talk about it but others told me about it. Must have been terrifying.
