A CN unit train of tank cars approaches Merritt Ave. and parallels Broad St. as it heads south via former C&NW rails at Oshkosh, WI on 28 Jan. '18. The former C&NW depot and freight house stand at left. Built by the Chicago firm of Clark & Fuller in 1884 on Broad St. between Washington Ave. and Merritt Ave. at a cost $15,000, it opened on 1 Dec. ’84. The depot was more ornate when completed, some of its interesting architectural elements have been removed over the years. The last passenger train, the Peninsula “400,” departed on 31 Jun. ’71. The depot is currently used by Clarity Care. Train had three locomotives, CN 2612, CN 5731, and CN 8877.
