| We made it for the 2024 Galesburg RR Days V.I.P. Bus Tour. My first time going on this! Well worth it, except this was the first time no photos allowed inside the shops! BNSF Railway locomotives rest in the yard at Galesburg, Illinois, taken June 30, 2024. Retired locomotive #1256 is a fuel efficient 3GS21B Genset. It was built in 2007 by National Railway Equipment. These are built with three smaller engines which needed frequent maintenance. BNSF and other Class One railroads have recently retired most of their Genset locomotives.
