Built in November 1948 as B&O 556 (c/n 6679) on EMD Order E1086, it was renumbered to 9548 on March 18, 1957, retired in March 1985, sold to Wilson Railway Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa June 26, 1985, sold to Fitzgerald Railcar Service (Fitzgerald, Georgia) as 9548, leased to IMC Fertilizer as 9548. The trailing unit is B&OCT SW9 9605, built March 1952 as B&OCT 595 (c/n 15891), renumbered to 9605 during early 1957, transferred to the B&O in January 1974, leased to the B&OCT until April 2, 1976, retired in late 1985, sold to Birmingham Rail and Locomotive Company (Bessemer, Alabama) on December 26, 1985. |
