Album Info:Here are more than 100 duplicate 35mm color slides of Pennsylvania Railroad steam and diesel-electric locomotives that were produced and distributed by Mr. Al Chione. The photographers' names, the locomotive road numbers, the exact dates, and the locations are provided when available. According to a brief bio composed by Mr. Andy Romano, "A retired firefighter, Al began shooting in 1954 after his interest in railroading was sparked by his grandfather, an engineer on the CB&Q, and his dad who was a railfan. Al built one of the largest train slide collections extant, and was making dupes of his slides available commercially for many years. He also co-authored a fine railfan book spotlighting Al's friend Howard Fogg's remarkable body of railroad art."

TurboTrain, 1968
Title:  TurboTrain, 1968
Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, during January of 1968. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is United Aircraft's "TurboTrain" No. 1 (UAC-1). According to a reliable source, "In both Canada and the United States, the TurboTrain debuted in 1968 and could operate at speeds of up to 160 mph ~ although generally, they did not top 120 mph while in regular service. For a gas-turbine design, the trainsets still hold the world speed record of nearly 171 mph. This was accomplished using just two power cars and a single coach in December of 1967 along the Pennsylvania Railroad's main line in New Jersey, a year before the streamliner went into revenue service."
