Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near the Passenger Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in April of 1947. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6847, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in May of 1957 after 31 years of faithful service. In this context, it's about to enter the Station with an eastbound passenger train. Note the B-1 electric switcher coupled to the baggage car at the far right.

Description:  Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken just East of the Coaling Tipple in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1957. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6847, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in May of 1957. After having been turned around on the East Altoona Turntable, it's now heading back toward the Tipple and the East Altoona Roundhouse. Partially visible at the left is engine #6831, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by Baldwin in September of 1926 and retired in August of 1955.

Visible at the left is the front end of engine #6831, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by Baldwin in September of 1926 and retired in August of 1955. The shadow in the foreground is cast by the massive Tipple.
