BN Spud Local  Contributor's Pick!
Washington's central section is typically dry, as opposed to the part west of the Cascade Mountains. Nonetheless, traffic here is still largely agricultural, which is allowed by massive irrigation. BN runs a weekday local out of Wenatchee to Quincy, called the Spud Local since GN days, to help tap some of the traffic generated by the area's farmers. Here GP9 1702 and GP38-2 2093 sit while their crew is at lunch. The road's former GN depot is off to the right.
