The most prominent locomotive is GP20 2068 (on the right) built in April 1961 as CB&Q GP20 932 (c/n 26603) on EMD Order 7597, became BN 2068 and was retired in December 1986. On the left is SD7 6025, also a former CB&Q locomotive, built as CB&Q SD7 302 (c/n 18322). Most of the locomotives seen here are former CB&Q power, a mix of SD7's, SD9's GP20's, SD24's and GP40's. A downturn in businees, and the recent (between 1977 and 1980) acquisition of 659 new locomotives (SD40-2's and C30-7's) put these locomotives in mothballs for a bit. Some would return to service. |
