LIRR Parlor Car on Tr 22, Thursday and Friday Evenings Only, Parlor Cars Only  Contributor's Pick!
For front of this train see: http://railfan44.rrpicturearchives.net/editPicture1.aspx?id=1567491 JohnDeasy emailed me: The car on the rear of LIRR train 22 at Westhampton is undoubtedly a Pullman lightweight 4 double bedroom, 4 compartment 2 drawing room sleeper, viewed from the hallway side of the car. LIRR acquired five of these "IMPERIAL" series sleeping cars from PRR in 1968 for use in parlor car service. Too bad the car number is not clear enough to read.

Tom Beckett General Car number looks like 2050 or possibly 2056. if it's 2056, it's the Wauwepex. LIRR parlors were numbered in the 2000's. Back in those days they had quite a collection. It made for interesting train watching if you were in Woodside or Kew Gardens. 2/15/2015 3:27:40 AM
