SAR Class D-2 (Side A) (Type 1)         
Class D-2 (DJ-2, DLJ-2) wagons entered service between 1973 and 1978 and are dropside open wagons designed to transport general goods. They were converted from Class DZ-10 and DZA-10 in 1979 and from Class DZ-10 between 1977 and 1978. The type 1 wagons have channel iron outside braces on their bulkheads. This one wears the Transnet Freight Rail emblem.
