| This lift bridge over the Little River at Archie, Louisiana had been built for the Louisiana & Arkansas Railway and was subsequently used by the first Louisiana Midland short line, the Illinois Central, the Illinois Central Gulf and the second Louisiana Midland short line before rail service ended in the 1980's. The bridge was subsequently removed, but the piers remain. |
