MISSOURI PACIFIC REFLECTIONS AT PROVO,UTAH FEBRUARY 7,2010.  Contributor's Pick!
On a nice Sunday afternoon, Provo's UP RCL Crew found it in their hearts to tie five former Missouri Pacific Geeps together to perform heavy switching duties at the UP Provo Yard. GP15-1 No.UPY 565 dates back to the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad. It was purchased by C&EI in July 1976 and was numbered 1565 and kept its original number when C&EI was bought by the Missouri Pacific. How neat it is to see these classics now dressed in Union Pacific paint put up against the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. Back in the mid to late 1980's former Missouri Pacific GP38-2's worked on locals around the Provo Area in blue paint. Chances are that 703 worked the Provo area still in Missouri Pacific paint.
