Sweetland. Here is the second of two successive duplicate 35mm color slides of photos by David R. Sweetland that were taken in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, c. 1960. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9466, an unidentified "B" unit, and #9475. All were built by Fairbanks-Morse and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #9466 was constructed in February of 1948 and retired in March of 1963. #9475 was built as an FP-20A in June of 1948, later regeared and reclassified as an FF-20, and retired in December of 1963. This A-B-A set has just passed through one of the tunnels and is passing the Gallitzin Freight Station with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way to Conway Yard. ("PrrFan18n") |
