Precision National SD24 6302 on the BN at Clyde, Illinois, May 1979, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in October 1959 as Southern SD24 2504 (c/n 15600) on EMD Order 5606. It was renumbered by the Southern to 6302. It was purchased by PNC during January 1978 and put into a lease pool, first leased to the Milwaukee Road and later to the BN. During 1979 it was sent to the Milwaukee Road for rebuilding. During the rebuilding the turbocharger and dynamic brakes were removed, resulting in an 1800 horsepower locomotive. Precision classed it as a SD10, numbered it 1802, and leased it to the BN for about a year. It was later leased to the C&NW and ultimately purchased by the C&NW, becoming C&NW SD18R 6624.
