Grenada Cut
The southbound local coming off of the Grenada District comes into the yard at North Jackson. The train probably has probably mostly loads of pulpwood from the numerous wood yards on the Grenada District. Here, this train will become Jackson-Natchez local where most of these loads will go to the International Paper mill in Natchez. From the collection of Fred Goff.

Joe Marascalco General This is something you don't see anymore where I work. I remember when just about every town on the Grenada District had a woodyard. All of the pulpwood went south. By the time the local came into Jackson, they would sometimes have up to 150 cars of pulpwood every day. 5/23/2012 5:22:52 PM
