UTAX 1136
Utah Transit Authority operates three light rail lines in the Salt Lake City area. Green Line (West Valley to downtown Salt Lake City) train 42, made up of Siemens S70 LRVs 1136 and 1127, has just departed the City Center Station and is rounding the curve next to the largest Latter Day Saints (Mormon) temple in downtown Salt Lake City. The Temple took 40 years to construct (1853 through 1893) and much of the granite used in its construction originated in a quarry in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The granite was then transported the Jordan Valley Railroad to a connection with the Union Pacific in Sandy, Utah, which then moved it a few miles north to the temples site. (This former UP trackage is now the UTAs Blue Line, connecting Sandy and SLC.)
